Carole Wilde Harrison-Picconi

Carole Wilde Harrison-Picconi, age 90 passed away Wednesday May 4, 2016, at her home in Silver Reef, Utah.  She was born February 16, 1926, to Walter James and Jeanette Lewis Wilde.   She was proud of the fact that she was born in her mother’s brass bed in the family home. She was the youngest of 4 children.  

She spent her youth in Spanish fork and attended Salt lake City Business College after graduation from High School.  Carole was an accomplished pianist and organist which led to her meeting her sweetheart and future husband Gordon E.  Harrison.  They were married August 30, 1946, in Spanish Fork.  This union was blessed with 2 daughters.  Carole and Gordon relocated to California, living in many cities, as her husband was superintendent of numerous school districts. They were later divorced but Gordon always held a special place in Carole’s heart.  

Carole later returned to school and earned her Master’s & Counseling Degree. She worked for Carona Unified School District as a teacher and counselor. She married Jean Picconi in Riverside, California. He later passed away in 1986 at Dixie Regional Medical Center.

After her retirement in 1984, Carole moved to Silver Reef, Utah.

Carole loved music and animals. She was a natural pianist and would be pulled out of the 7th grade to play the piano for the High school. She was very athletic and even in old age she was very youthful and was able to bounce back after numerous physical injuries. Carole enjoyed volunteering at Dixie Regional Medical Center where she received the highest honor for volunteer hours. She was in charge of the Nursing Scholarship.

Carole was always a professional and couldn’t stand gossip. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Carole is survived by her daughters, Nancy Harrison Williams of Silver Reef, Utah, Dianne Miller of Castle Rock, Colorado; 3 grandchildren, DyAnn Gordon, Vivian Johnson, Sara Bonnet and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by all of her brothers and sister, Vivian Knell of New Castle. She always claimed southern Utah as her home.

Funeral Services

  • Funeral services will be held Monday, May 9, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the Leeds LDS Ward Chapel.
  • Friends may gather Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, and again Monday prior to services from 9-9:45 a.m. at the Chapel.
  • Interment will take place in the Leeds Cemetery.
