Prep softball: Visiting Enterprise Wolves win big at Pine View

ST. GEORGE – The Pine View softball team got rocked by visiting Enterprise Friday night 13-2 at Panther Field.

pine-view-logoEnterprise high school utahEnterprise was coming off a bad loss Thursday, when it lost to Cedar 15-0. The Lady Wolves starting pitcher, Kashton Crouch, pitched a complete game for the win against PV. While Crouch did not strike many out (three), she was able to scatter her hits and rely on the Wolves defense to limit Lady Panther runs.

Jordan Gosik started for Pine View. After holding Enterprise scoreless in the first inning, costly errors allowed five base runners to cross over the next two innings. The Lady Wolves exploded in the fourth inning. PV coach Kim Hafen brought in Kyierrah Grinnell for relief, but before the inning ended, Enterprise had added eight runs for the 13-0 lead.

Pine View put up two runs in the bottom of the inning, but could not add more in the fifth to prevent the mercy-rule finish. For Enterprise, Stacy Williams led with three hits. Gabby Ramos and Halle Drake also recorded multiple hits.

Enterprise moves to 6-2 on the season with the win.

The loss snaps a five-game winning streak for the Lady Panthers and drops them to 6-4. They will resume region play next week with a visit to Cedar on Wednesday. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
