Alanya Kristiana Thompson

Alanya ThompsonMarch 10, 2012 — March 16, 2016

Our sweet princess Alanya got her angel wings as she passed through the veil to be greeted by grandparents and loved ones.  Alanya Kristiana Thompson was born on March 10, 2012 to Kristine Naomi Black and Gabriel Ryan Thompson, in St. George, Utah.  She passed away at home in the arms of her loving parents on March 16, 2016 after a long valiant struggle with cancer.

Although only on this earth four short years, Alanya touched the lives of many people.  She came into the world smiling and we will always remember how her smile would reach her eyes and light up the room.

Alanya loved all the Disney Princesses and would sing along with them every time she watched a movie.  She loved to sing and dance.  She loved her family and her older brother Markus was her best friend.  She knew the names of all his favorite superheroes.    One of their favorite things to do was to dress up, him as a superhero and her as a princess.  Then they would dance together around the living room. Alanya is our superhero.

Alanya is survived by her parents; brothers Jove Rion Thompson and Markus Gabriel Thompson; sister Chloe Violet Thompson; grandparents Valorie Black, Virginia Szentimrey, and Chuck Thompson, all of St. George, Utah; and great grandmother Hellen Katherine Thompson of Michigan.  She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved her from all over the world. She is preceded in death by grandfather Mark Alan Black; and great grandparents Joan and Vernon Hughes, and Ruth and Roger Osness.

The family wishes to thank the many people at Ronald McDonald House, and the doctors, nurses, and technicians at Primary Children’s Hospital for the great love, support and care that Alanya received during her treatments over the past two years.
