De Loris Cox Blake, age 85, passed away peacefully in her home early Monday morning, March 14, 2016. She was born May 29, 1930, in St. George, Utah, to Emerald Lane and Elsie Burgess Cox.  She married Joseph Truman Blake on August 31, 1948, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

De Loris attended Dixie High School and Dixie College.  She was a cheerleader, and active in speech and drama.

She was the mother of many, and with Truman raised 10 children and six foster children.  Because of her tender heart, she loved and cared for many pets as well.

She was office manager for Truman’s business “Medallion Electric and Insulating” and owned and operated the Morris Mulberry Inn Bed and Breakfast. She helped Truman build four homes for their family- one in St. George, two in Cedar City and one in Santa Clara.  She loved creating beautiful spaces, and enjoyed interior design and gardening.

De Loris was an active member of the LDS Church where she served in many callings.  Her lifetime of service includes but is not limited to Relief Society President, Gospel Doctrine teacher, Relief Society teacher, Stake Primary Presidency, Cub Scouts, and three Church-Service Missions.

She was supportive of her husband, as he served in many capacities, and loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family has fond memories of the time they spent with her.

She loved her friends and family and always took time for visits.  She especially enjoyed her monthly “sisters’ convention” with Cheryl, Cynthia, and Rosalee.

De Loris is survived by her 10 children: Danielle (Dale) Hatch, Debra (Paul) Thomas, Malynne Clayburn, Christopher (Gina), Jeffrey, Nicholas (Debbie), Calista (Shawn) Jennings, Randolyn (Paul) Peine, Francesca (Tyler) Rose, Bronwynn (Ryan) Swigert, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her siblings:  Clark (Donna) Cox,  Sherman (Marilyn) Cox, Cheryl  (Bruce) Stucki, Cynthia (Neal) Shepherd, Rosalee  (Doug) Rogers.
