WASHINGTON CITY Springtime officially arrived at Staheli Family Farm Saturday as crowds of families arrived on the farm to participate in the annual “Hop Into Easter Event.”

Though early morning rains left the farm a little soggy, the event drew big crowds from the Southern Utah community and beyond.

Highlighting the event were two Easter egg hunts   one at 10 a.m. and one at noon which had children running around in the fields hunting for eggs. Children gathered the eggs in colorful baskets and bags, then turned them in for a special goodie bag filled with candy and prizes.

“The Easter egg hunt and the day on the farm is going great,” Sherrie Staheli, an owner at Staheli Family Farm, said. “Despite the rain, it has just been so much fun, we’ve got a great turnout.”

The Easter Bunny paid a special visit to the farm to help kick off the hunt as well as to pose for photos and dance on stage with the children.

Also visiting the farm were Alice from “Alice and Wonderland” played by Layni Hunter; and Mary Poppins played by Katie Whited. The two girls work with Princess Parties by Kate to provide beautiful and recognizable characters at special events like the “Hop Into Easter Event” held at the farm.

Of course a farm wouldn’t be a farm without its animals and Staheli Family Farm delivered with chickens, turkey, pigs, llamas, ponies, cows and goats.

Baby goats were born a little over a week ago on the farm and families were able to visit their stall to see and pet them.

Rounding out the springtime fun were games, slides, rides and several opportunities for photo ops.
