MESQUITE, Nev. — The Virgin Valley Heritage Museum, in conjunction with Denene Torgenson, will present a demonstration Saturday from 1-3 p.m. on how to cook a breakfast, cinnamon rolls and other goodies in a Dutch oven. The demonstration is free and open to the public.
Torgenson will be using a Dutch oven designed by her father, Dent Sorensen. It is cast in either aluminum or iron and uses a central cone to allow hot air inside the oven. The public is invited to attend and get acquainted with a modern spin on an old cooking method.
Also on Saturday, the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery will be hosting their “Art ‘N the Yard Sale” scholarship fundraiser starting at 9 a.m.
For more information about the Dutch oven breakfast demonstration or the Virgin Valley Heritage Museum, go to the museum’s Facebook page or stop by the museum at 35 W. Mesquite Boulevard.
The Virgin Valley Heritage Museum is opened Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
