Cedar City woman indicted for identity fraud and theft

CEDAR CITY – The Iron County Attorney’s Office indicted a Cedar City woman Thursday for identity fraud and theft after she allegedly used her ex-husband’s personal information to obtain credit for herself.

Anita Robker, 57, is charged with two third-degree felonies for allegedly using the name, birthdate and social security number of Jerrod G. Robker II in March 2015 to process a CareCredit card application through Synchrony Financial. However, she reportedly listed a Cedar City address on the application that was not linked to Jerrod Robker but was actually Anita Robker’s home address at the time. She also used a phone number that was under her name only.

Charging documents state Anita Robker used the credit card in April for two separate transactions without her ex-husband’s permission. The first charge — allegedly made on April 11 — was for $995 at Parowan Dental PC, while the second charge on April 20 was for $3,005 to Dixie Oral and Maxillofacial in St. George.

The owner of Parowan Dental PC and the manager of Dixie Oral and Maxillofacial both reported Anita Robker as the patient who received services and paid for them using the credit card applied for in March, the documents state.

Sheriff deputies arrested and booked Anita Robker into the Iron County Jail approximately two weeks ago, said Detective Dave Mitchell. Court records show Anita Robker was released shortly afterward on a $5,000 bail bond.

Charging documents in the case were filed on Feb. 2; however, the specific date of Anita Robker’s arrest and release were not available at the time of publication.
