Sunshine and soccer as enthusiasts descend on sunny St. George

ST. GEORGE — President’s Day weekend is the unofficial kickoff of soccer season around the country and one needed look no further than the neighborhood park for proof of that.

Seemingly nearly every public span of green grass was filled to the brim with soccer players, soccer coaches, soccer moms and, of course, soccer balls, as the divine weather in southern Utah attracted thousands to the area.

St. George News photographer Robert Hoppie was out and about Saturday and collected this photo gallery of some of the aforementioned soccer mania:
