ST. GEORGE — The public is invited to learn about the Republican presidential candidates and vote in the Southern Utah GOP Presidential Straw Poll Saturday at Dixie State University, starting at 9 a.m.
Representatives from many of the GOP campaigns will be present, including those of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, businesswoman Carly Fiorina, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
The event will be held at the ballroom in the Gardner Center on the DSU campus, 225 S. 700 East in St. George.
There will be a “meet and greet” at the campaign booths beginning at 9 a.m., and campaign speeches will commence at 10 a.m. Voting will be open 9-11:30 a.m., with the results announced at noon.
General admission is free.
Registered Republicans can vote in the Straw Poll for a $1 donation to the College Republicans. This event is sponsored by the DSU College Republicans and the Dixie Republican Forum.
