Police cite driver for not yielding; collision on State Street

ST. GEORGE — A two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 1150 West and State Street in Hurricane caused significant damage to both vehicles Monday.

A white Chevy Equinox SUV was making a left-hand turn onto State Street and was struck by a maroon Chevy Venture minivan traveling west on State Street, Hurricane Police Patrol Sgt. Kurt Yates said.

“The white Equinox failed to yield to the van and caused the collision,” Yates said. “The driver of the white Equinox was cited for failure to yield,” Yates said.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts and airbags deployed on both vehicles. No injuries were reported.

The Hurricane Police and Hurricane Valley Fire departments responded to the incident.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
