Officials release name of woman whose body was found in river

ST. GEORGE — Authorities have released the identity Friday of the woman whose body was discovered by a man hiking Thursday afternoon in City Creek near the Halfway Wash Trail in St. George.

The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Natasha “Tosh” Calderon, of St. George, according to a media statement issued by the St. George Police Department.

Officials were called to the scene near 1700 W. Sunset Boulevard at 1:06 p.m. when a man walking around the area reported finding a woman’s body, St. George Police Sgt. Sam Despain said.

“Detectives were able to identify the victim through personal affects (sic),” the Police Department said Friday. “At this time the cause of death is unknown and the investigation is active. The St. George Police Department is working closely with the Medical Examiner to determine a cause of death.”

    This area is busy during the day off Dixie dr and behind credit union and sunset clinic.. It’s not in the woods but public area, hope cameras from local places can see some thing, it’s getting closer to homes and happening all too often in town, but our police fo a great job in solving crimes .. Good luck guys
