Norman Albert Eastwood

Eastwood, NormNovember 1933 – December 19, 2015

With a heavy heart, we announce the loss of our husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend Norman Albert Eastwood. He passed away Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, from heart failure while awaiting the kickoff of the BYU vs. Utah football game in Las Vegas.

He had a full and enjoyable 82 years of life and has shared with family and friends the meaning of “living life to its fullest.”

Norm was born in November 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Elsie and Albert Eastwood. He attended Granite High School and served with the United States Navy for four years. Norm married Joyce Eastwood in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and shared many wonderful and loving moments during their 58 years together, including an LDS mission in Heber Valley, Utah, in 2007.

Norm was deeply involved with the LDS church, the community and a huge fan of the BYU basketball and football programs. He enjoyed four-wheeling with friends in Idaho and Utah and loved riding with his motorcycle groups the Southern Utah Hogs and the Temple Riders Association in St. George.

Norm’s legacy will continue through his wife, Joyce; his siblings, Vilate Jones and Elaine Christensen; his children, Linnae Eastwood, David Eastwood and Linda Eastwood; his grandchildren, Spencer Eastwood, Paige Eastwood, Conor Merritt, Parker Eastwood and Eric Merritt; nieces and nephews; and extended family Mike and Amy Merritt and Rodger Norman.

In death, he is happily reunited with his parents, his brothers and sisters and many other family members and friends.
