Dermont Alonzo Brinkerhoff was born Aug. 18, 1944, in St. George, Utah, to Donald A. and Zula Clegg Brinkerhoff. He passed away Dec. 17, 2015, in Washington, Utah. Dermont grew up in St. George and at the sheep camps with his father in the summers.
Dermont graduated from Dixie High School. His father passed away in 1960, after which he and his mother moved to Salt Lake City, where they lived for many years. They eventually came back to St. George, and Dermont began working at the Casa Blanca Casino in Mesquite. He also worked at Costco and later Home Depot in St. George.
Dermont was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leon Donald and Ver Don Clegg; and a niece, Veronica Brinkerhoff.
He is survived by a sister-in-law, Erika Brinkerhoff of Portland, Oregon; three nephews, Brent L. Brinkerhoff of Salt Lake City, Utah, Erik (Rosemary) Brinkerhoff of Beryl, Utah, and Robert “Boyd” Brinkerhoff of Salt Lake City, Utah; a niece, Sonya Brinkerhoff of Portland, Oregon; and numerous cousins who are very fond of him.
