WASHINGTON CITY — A collision between two SUVs at an intersection in Washington City resulted in a dent in the side of a building and three people being taken to the hospital.
Around 2:15 p.m., a GMC SUV occupied by a woman and an infant was heading west on Telegraph Street when it allegedly ran a red light at the 300 East intersection. Heading north through the intersection at the same time was a Toyota Sequoia SUV occupied by a woman and four juveniles, said Ed Kantor, Washington City Police public information officer.
The GMC collided with the Toyota and sent it in a northwest direction off the roadway, over the curb and ultimately into the side of a building that houses a laundromat and other businesses. The Toyota left an impression on the outside wall of the building but did not appear to break through it.
The woman and two of the juveniles in the GMC were taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George with minor injuries, Kantor said.
The woman and infant in the GMC were unharmed.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene and the driver of the GMC was issued a citation for running the red light.
