ST. GEORGE – An attempt to make a U-turn on N. 1680 East resulted in a two-vehicle collision in St. George that temporarily clogged the roadway Wednesday afternoon.

Around 1:30 p.m., the driver of a Toyota Tacoma pulled off to the side of the street and then attempted to make a U-turn when it collided with a northbound Chevrolet van, St. George Police Officer Lona Trombley said.

The impact crunched the front passenger side of the van, which appeared to be carrying a group of teens and was driven by a woman in her early 40s.

The driver of the Tacoma was a woman in her mid-20s. She was cited for engaging in an unsafe turn, Trombley said.

No major injuries were reported and no one was transported to the hospital.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Units of the St. George Police and Fire departments as well as Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the scene.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
