Wind advisory in Cedar City through afternoon

CEDAR CITY — The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a wind advisory, which is in effect until 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Affected area

Southwest Utah including the cities of Beaver, Cedar City and Milford.

Winds

Southwest 20-35 mph with gusts to 55 mph.

Timing

The wind advisory is in effect through 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Impacts

Strong crosswinds are expected on all east-west routes across southwest Utah, especially for high profile vehicles and those towing trailers. Wind-sensitive operations may be impacted.

Precautionary/preparedness actions

A wind advisory means that sustained wind speeds of at least 31 mph or gusts of 45 mph are expected. Motorists in the advisory area should be prepared for sudden gusty crosswinds, which can make driving difficult.
