ST. GEORGE — A taxicab driver turning left onto E. 100 South off S. 1200 East in St. George failed to see a Jeep resulting in a collision Saturday morning.
“According to the driver of the taxi, he indicated he slowed as he was turning and waited for one of the vehicles coming through (the intersection),” St. George Police Sgt. Albert Gilman said.
The taxi driver didn’t see the other vehicle as he made his turn, Gilman said.
The accident happened just after 9 a.m. when the taxi driver turned in front of the Jeep and was T-boned on the left side, resulting in damage to the taxi.
The Jeep sustained what appeared to be minor damage to its left front end.
Traffic was slowed on E. 100 South for about 45 minutes while responders investigated and cleaned up after the incident.
No injuries were reported, Gilman said.
Units from the St. George Police and Fire departments and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the scene.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
