WASHINGTON CITY — A woman was struck by a car Friday morning directly in front of Wal-Mart in Washington City.
The woman was walking through the parking lot just before 9:30 a.m. when a Ford Ranger truck driven by a 20-year-old man struck her at low speed, Washington City Police spokesman Ed Kantor said.
The woman was transported for “scrapes and evaluation,” Kantor said, adding she was taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George.
The driver was not cited because he was on private property, Kantor said.
“Unless we show impairment or one of those (laws) that can be enforced on private property we do not take enforcement action,” Kantor said.
Units from the Washington City Police and Fire departments and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the scene.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
