GRAND CANYON, Ariz. — Grand Canyon National Park is hosting the interactive REI village, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to celebrate “a life outdoors is a life well-lived.”
The village will engage visitors in a backyard-style party full of games, giveaways and lost to discover. All activities are free to park visitors.
In partnership with REI, a premier sponsor for the Find Your Park National Park Service Centennial campaign, this village will start the celebration for the upcoming NPS Centennial.
Visitors can learn about the NPS Centennial through interactive maps of national parks, camping games, historical camping artifacts and an Instagram station.
Grand Canyon National Park staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide tips for having a safe and enjoyable visit. Representatives from other public land management agencies including Arizona State Parks will be present to provide visitors with information about visiting other public lands.
Find Your Park is a public awareness and education campaign celebrating the milestone centennial anniversary of the National Park Service in 2016. Funded through the National Park Foundation, the campaign invites the public to see that a national park can be more than a place—it can be a feeling, a state of mind, or a sense of American pride.
