Earl was born April 11, 1928, in Eureka, Utah, to Almon and Hazel Sanderson Roundy. He attended schools in Eureka, Utah, and South High School in Salt Lake City. He spent several years driving a gasoline truck, worked at Kennecott Copper for a while, then for Murray City Power Department. For several years he drove a truck hauling RV trailers from California, to Terry’s Trailer Sales in Murray. After retiring from Murray City, he moved to St. George, Utah.
Earl married Dona Jean Rutherford June 18, 1950, in Elko, Nevada. She passed away, after which he married Reva Hatch on July 1, 1972, in the Manti LDS Temple.
He was active in the LDS Church, filling many callings, including Ward Executive Secretary, Elder’s Quorum Counselor and President, Sunday school and High Priest teacher, and Stake High Counselor. After moving to St. George, he spent many hours in the temple, a service he greatly enjoyed.
He is survived by his wife, Reva; children, Steve Roundy, Julie (Larry) Keyes, Leslie Mayfield, Susan (David) DePalma; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Jean and son Dennis.
Funeral Services
- Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. in the Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel, 110 S. Bluff Street, St. George.
- A visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 8, 5-6 p.m. and Monday, 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the mortuary.
- Interment will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 10, noon in the Santaquin City Cemetery, Santaquin, Utah.
