ST. GEORGE ― The Independent Community Bankers of America has named Town & Country Bank CEO Bruce Jensen as their 2015 ICBA Community Banker of the Year-West, adding to his other awards including Utah Business magazine’s 2015 CEO of the Year, and the Western Independent Bankers Association’s 2015 Community Banker of the Year.
Jensen was selected from among more than 200 bankers being considered for the ICBA award. He will be featured in the December issue of Independent Banker magazine, and will be formally recognized in March at the association’s annual convention in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Under Jensen’s leadership, 7½-year-old Town & Country Bank has emerged as one of the most profitable financial institutions in the nation, according to its press release. The St. George-based bank has ranked in the top 2 percent to 5 percent of all U.S. banks in return on assets and return on equity for each of the last seven calendar quarters.
Town & Country has also been recognized for several industry innovations. For example, according to its press release, it was one of the first banks to adopt banks to utilize a “universal banking” approach, where in-bank customers are served by a single specialist who can act as teller, new accounts representative and customer service agent.
