WASHINGTON COUNTY – Washington County Sheriff’s detectives and the Office of the Medical Examiner have confirmed the identity of a body found Friday approximately 9 miles southwest of Enterprise Reservoir.
The body has been identified as Kennard Murray Dixon, of Cedar City. Dixon was last seen in the Las Vegas, Nevada, area on Sept. 25, according to a Washington County Sheriff’s Office press release issued Saturday. Dixon was reported missing by family members after they were unable to contact him.
Investigators are still looking into the events leading up to Dixon’s death, according to the press release, and autopsy results have not yet been received from the Office of the Medical Examiner.
Dixon’s body was discovered Friday by a citizen who was moving cattle in a remote area southwest of Enterprise Reservoir. A Sheriff’s Office press statement released Friday said the body was found in the vicinity of a vehicle with out-of-state license plates that appeared to have been involved in an accident.
“Although the investigation is ongoing, initial information has shown no indication of foul play,” the press release issued Saturday said.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
