Even though women’s issues in Spain have drastically improved in the last 40 years, Ceballos said, there are still things that need to be changed. Despite this need, she said, Spain is ahead of the United States in supporting mothers in the workplace.

Chizu Matsubara will speak about what is happening to women in Japan, where people who are 65 and older are predicted to make up approximately 40 percent of the population by 2060.

Theda Wrede will take over and present on family and work in Germany. She will talk about maternity and paternity leave and childcare options.
