ST. GEORGE — The Snow Canyon Warriors moved to 3-1 going into 3AA South Region play with a 45-0 victory over the Ogden Tigers Friday night at Warriors Stadium.
The Warrior defense was dominant, scoring two touchdowns and a safety while shutting out the visitors and holding them to 122 yards. The defense also forced four turnovers, two through the air and two on the ground.
“Our defense continually put our offense in great field position,” said Warrior assistant coach Tim Nowatzke. “The front seven disrupted what they wanted to do.”
Offensively, Snow Canyon rested their skill players the whole second half after leading 35-0 going into the locker room. Wide receiver T.J. Taimi reached the century plateau receiving before the intermission.
Quarterback Jackson Nowatzke completed 75 percent of his passes and threw for 113 yards and two touchdowns, also prior to halftime.
The Warriors will begin region play by hosting the Pine View Panthers next week.
