ST. GEORGE — A woman drove off the road on Red Hills Parkway in St. George Wednesday, crashing through a chain-link fence and ending up on the shoulder of Interstate 15. The crash flattened all four of the vehicle’s tires but did not cause any injuries.

“The driver started on Red Hills Parkway but ended up near I-15,” St. George Police Sgt. Sam Despain said, adding that the van the woman was driving ended up on the shoulder of southbound I-15 just north of the St. George Boulevard exit.

“It was driven by a 78-year-old female,” Despain said, also saying that the woman didn’t remember what had happened.

Gold Cross Ambulance was called out and examined the woman, who refused ambulance transport to the hospital.

The vehicle sustained moderate damage, with all four tires flat and some undercarriage damage, Despain said.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident and no other injuries were reported, Despain said.

Units from the St. George Police Department, St. George Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the scene.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

Another “medical episode” refusing transport to have “medical episode” evaluated. Refusal should be mandatory transport to jail, cut license in half and vehicle impounded. Idiot people.

Her being 78, it was probably the first sign she had a medical problem. These “medical episodes” are scary business, be careful driving out there, the person next to you may have a “medical episode”
