Washington County Fair’s final day parade

ST. GEORGE — The streets were abuzz with candy-hunting children while their favorite superheroes swept down Tabernacle Street early Saturday morning. It was all part of the Washington County Fair’s annual parade for the final day of the fair.

Not all superheroes in Saturday’s procession wore capes. Servicemen from several branches of the armed services, police, firefighters and public servants walked or rode in the parade that began at 9 a.m.

Many cities and Washington County sent their royalty, with queens and princesses waving to the parade-goers along the route. Even Disney princesses showed up, including Elsa and Anna from the movie “Frozen.”

Saturday is the closing day of the fair, which is held at the county fairgrounds in Hurricane. Final night events include the 7 p.m demolition derby, the 8 p.m. boxing matches, and a fireworks show starting around 10 p.m.
