3AA South football Media Day is today as coaches, players ready for 2015 season

ST. GEORGE – Coaches and select players from all six 3AA South teams will meet the press and grab the mics as the 3AA South Region Media Day is today beginning at 3 p.m.

The event, hosted by St. George News and 106.1 FM Sports Radio ESPN in St. George (soon to be 97.7 FM) will last three hours, with each team allotted 30 minutes. Media Day will take place at the St. George News building, 158 W. 1600 South, in St. George.

The 3AA South (Region 9) head coaches will be attending with some teams bringing assistant coaches and all teams bringing at least three players representing their school.

Region 9 Media Day will be broadcast live on 106.1 FM Sports Radio ESPN, and streamed live on stgnews.com and southernutahlive.com.

Media Day will be telecast live on TV on KCSG (on Dish & Direct TV) as well as coverage CEC channel 22 on Baja Cable.

Region 9 Media Day will cover the preseason outlook and preview for each school, along with an open forum question and answer with coaches and players from the media in attendance.

mediafeatRegion 9 was at it again last year with four teams in the state semifinals and an All-Region 9 showdown in the state championship between Dixie and Hurricane. Other teams in the 3AA South Region 9 include: The 2013 champs Desert Hills, plus Snow Canyon, Pine View and Cedar.

Region 9 Media Day will start at 3 p.m.

  • 3 p.m. | Coach Marcus Matua, Snow Canyon Warriors | also scheduled to appear: Coach Tim Nowatzke, QB Jackson Nowatzke, WR Jake Rhea
  • 3:30 p.m. | Coach Josh Bennett, Cedar Redmen | also scheduled to appear: QB Mason Fakahua, RB/LB Brock Oldroyd
  • 4 p.m. | Coach Steve Pearson, Hurricane Tigers | also scheduled to appear: RB Nick McDaniel, C Holt Porter, LB Angel Bulloch, WR/DB Kyle Williams
  • 4:30 p.m. | Coach Andy Stokes, Dixie Flyers | also scheduled to appear: QB Zak Harrah, WR Bret Barben, WR Jaden Harrison, RB Tre Miller
  • 5 p.m. | Coach Ray Hosner, Pine View Panthers | also scheduled to appear: QB Riley Livingston, WR Steve Bangerter, OL CJ Bratten, LB Kyle Tauiliili
  • 5:30 p.m. | Coach Carl Franke, Desert Hills Thunder | also scheduled to appear: QB Nick Warmsley, WR Stetson Wood, WR/DB Zak Fuchs, LB Badge Morris
  • 6 p.m. | Region Preseason Awards | thoughts and recap of Media Day
