FEATURE — In this third installment of St. George News’ own “Dixie’s Adopt-a-Paws,” Liz Baxter heads off to One More Chance C.A.T.S rescue center, where she spends some quality time with cute critters and talks with Kris Neal, the center’s founder.
This week, we introduce you to 2-year-old Freddy, an adorable kitten with three legs and a big heart; Foxy Lady, who was born with no eyelids but has since had one surgery giving her one of them back; and seven precious 9-week-old kittens who are fixed, vaccinated and ready to adopt into a new loving home.

One More Chance C.A.T.S., or Companion Animal Tender Support, is a nonprofit corporation whose mission is to help curb the overpopulation of homeless pets by spaying and neutering. the organization provides low-cost spays and neuters to families who otherwise couldn’t afford it. And, the organization works to spay and neuter feral cats through a program called “Trap, Neuter, Return.”
Those who may want to find other ways of getting involved through One More Chance can volunteer. Opportunities to help include grant writing, transporting, adopting, donating and even choosing to foster.
