In April, detectives with the Washington County Drug Task Force conducted an investigation into drug distribution within the county, according to a probable cause statement filed in support of the arrest.

During this time, Aaron Ramsey, 32, of St. George, was identified by detectives as someone they suspected of selling drugs. A controlled drug buy was arranged with a confidential informant who, prior to the buy, also allegedly identified Ramsey as someone involved in drug distribution.

“Following the purchase of the narcotics, the confidential informant was shown a photograph of Aaron, with no name showing, and they identified the male in the photo as the one they had bought illicit drugs from,” a task force detective wrote in the statement.

After being identified by the informant and two task force detectives involved in the operation, Ramsey was subsequently arrested. He has been booked into the Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility and charged with second-degree felony drug distribution.

Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
