BRYCE CANYON — The 12th annual National Dutch Oven Gathering started Thursday and goes until Sunday at Bryce Canyon National Park.
The gathering offers a series of contests, demonstrations and classes dedicated to dutch ovens and different recipes for them.
The events are held at Bryce Canyon’s Ruby’s Inn RV Park and Campground.
This year’s gathering will also include a performance from local band Muddy Boots Friday night.
While the activities started Thursday evening with a meet-and-greet, the bulk of the gathering will be Friday and Saturday, with both days activity-packed from morning to night.
The gathering closes out with a breakfast provided by the gathering’s committee.
One person who will be sharing recipes at the gathering is former world dutch oven champion Bruce Tracy.
Tracy is the author of two dutch oven cookbooks: “Dutch Oven Baking” and “Backyard Dutch Oven Cooking,” the latter having just been released.
He is an Ogden resident and the winner of the 2004 International Dutch Oven Society World Championship.
