ST. GEORGE — On May 8-9, the Retrospect RockFest, a family-friendly event, will take place at Ridge Top Complex, with 20 different bands coming in from across the globe.
The live music will range from tribute bands, like Fan Halen and High Voltage, to Mystery and StOp,sToP! from Australia and Spain/UK, respectively. Each of the bands will perform once over the two-day festival.
Gates open Friday at 3 p.m. and 10 a.m. on Saturday. Both nights, the event will close at 11 p.m.
In addition to the music, there will be several other events going on at the festival. The Red Rock BBQ Festival will be on Saturday, along with a beer garden and plenty of dancing. There will also be a bounce house and other activities for the kids.
The festival has one-day passes, two-day passes and VIP passes. Admission is $40, $60 and $149, respectively. Children 10 and under are free. Tickets include admission to the BBQ festival. The VIP passes include special event parking, a meal for each day and special seating. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate. Prices will not be raised at the gate, but all promotional codes will be discontinued.
Kjirsten Strong, owner operator of Strong Marketing Group, is working with the festival and said, “I don’t know that anything’s been brought together like this on such a huge scale (in St. George).”

Dancing? Did I read that right? In St. George? Must have been a typo as the local cops will shut this right down if there is dancing. It’s happened before.
What’s wrong with a little Square Dancing? Line the pockets of the code endorsement cop, forfeit 15% of the gate receipts and let them dos -I- doe.
I’m glad the city is allowing this event. It’s about time something fun that includes music AND dancing was permitted. There’s even a beer garden!!! The only drawback I see is “family friendly.” Isn’t there anywhere in this county an adult can go to escape being around kids and just be an adult?
