Roland Lance Burritt passed away peacefully at home on April 14, 2015, after a brief illness. He was born May 19, 1931, in Santa Barbara, California, to Roland Lawton and Edith Mae Faulkner Burritt.

He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era as a medic in Italy. In 1962, he married the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann Clark. They lived in the San Francisco/Oakland area of Northern California for several years, starting a family and pursuing their dreams together. In 1977, they moved to Lake County, California, where they were an active part of the community for 27 years.

Roland was an entrepreneur at heart and owned and operated several businesses during the course of his lifetime, both independently and together with his wife, Elizabeth. In 1989, Roland established Keys Landing Real Estate, specializing in waterfront and lakefront property. Elizabeth joined him a short time later. It was their most successful business endeavor together.

Roland was highly esteemed within the business community. During the Burritts’ time in Lake County, Roland was elected President of the Lake County Association of Realtors and was appointed to three county commissions by the Lake County Supervisor’s Commissioner – public service callings which he greatly enjoyed.

He and Elizabeth also helped establish a local Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge and devoted much time helping the Order to raise thousands of dollars for various charities, such as the Jimmy Durante Children’s Fund.  In 2004, they sold their business and retired to the St. George area, where they continued to lead an active life together. Some of the many hobbies Roland enjoyed throughout his life were horses, boating, fishing, golf, classic cars, and traveling with his wife and family.

Roland will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Elizabeth; one son, Roland Scott Burritt; a daughter; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
