ST. GEORGE – A medical incident led to a one-car accident on Riverside Drive in St. George just before 4 p.m. Friday. The car involved was damaged and landscaping on the side of the road was rearranged, including two trees being snapped in two.
St. George Police Sgt. Rich Triplett said a woman was traveling westbound on Riverside Drive when she had an unspecified medical incident. Her car left the road and hit two trees, shearing them off. The vehicle also hit some landscaping rocks. The front end of the car was damaged, and the vehicle ended up in the left turning lane.
The woman declined treatment from paramedics at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Traffic was impacted in both directions for about 20 minutes as the debris was cleared.
The woman was cited for failure to maintain position in a travel lane.
