ST. GEORGE — An accident on North Bluff Street just before 9 a.m. Friday resulted in no injuries, but both cars had to be towed from the scene.
St. George Police Sgt. Rich Triplett said that a red Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling northbound on Bluff St. when it didn’t notice a stopped Jeep Grand Cherokee in the left lane.
The Hyundai crashed into the back of the Jeep, entangling and severely damaging both vehicles. It took several minutes and some creative work by the tow truck driver to separate the vehicles.
Triplett said the Hyundai driver was cited by St. George Police for negligent collision, and Gold Cross Ambulance was called to the scene; but no one appeared to be injured.
Traffic on Bluff Street was impacted for about 25 minutes, with one lane open in each direction and police officers directing traffic.
