ADVERTORIAL / ST. GEORGE — Most people relocate to Southern Utah for the abundant sunshine, ideal climate and the peaceful atmosphere. Having an outdoor living space that allows you to enjoy all these elements is paramount in the pursuit of serenity.

Furnishing and accessorizing your outdoor living space isn’t always easy — big brand stores typically only offer generic, limited options that will only last for a small amount of time before needing to be replaced. Cheap cushions and frames can fall victim to ultraviolet rays and begin to break down prematurely.

By investing in higher quality products, you will receive a longer lasting, completely customizable outdoor patio set that will last for years to come. Collins Stuart, owner of Outdoor Living Furniture & Accessories, discovered a gap in the area for upscale furniture offerings and resolved to bring his business to St. George.

There really hasn’t been anything here in St. George that tailors to people that want to compliment their outside space,” Stuart said. “So I opened Outdoor Living about a year ago.”

When it comes to the grade of fabric and frames, it’s really not something people should skimp on, Stuart said. The plentiful and often harmful UV rays in the St. George area can quickly disintegrate low grade patio furniture.

“The frames are designed to last 10-20 years and the cushions are designed to wick the moisture out and not break down.” Stuart said. “It’s basically a lifetime piece that they’ve bought.”

On top of the long-lasting, high-grade material, the sets are completely customizable, down to frame type, fabric design and set arrangements. Furthermore, the designs don’t expire, so if two years down the road you want to expand your set, the option is always there.

“We’re really like an outdoor patio boutique,” Stuart said.

At its new St. George store, Outdoor Living Furniture & Accessories offers the opportunity for customers to not only come in and shop the expansive catalogs and fabric samples, but also to step into their showroom to see and feel all the different options for furnishing their outdoor space.

“Half of the people that walk in here find a manufacturer and a group that they like, and then pick a fabric that tailors to them,” Stuart said. “And the other half of the people just appreciate the quality that we have and they find something that they already like, and take what we have in stock.”

Some of the more popular designers offered in the store are Tropitone, Mallin, Telescope Casual, and Erwin and Sons, Stuart said. There is always someone in the store to guide customers in finding furnishings that will suit their individual needs.

“If somebody’s serious they need to know why it’s more money and the need to learn about it and be educated about it,” Stuart said. “There is a huge difference and it’s not just in the dollars.”

Along with furniture, the store offers accessories to compliment your outdoor space, like stone-top tables, fire pits, outdoor tableware, hammocks, barbecues and more.

“My goal is to take the comfort of the inside and move it to the outside — we have furniture that draws you outside,” Stuart said. “Come visit our showroom, we have put together a really fun collection with a good variety.”
