ST. GEORGE — A man got more than he bargained for on a motorcycle test ride Monday when he took a corner in the Dixie Downs area of St. George, lost control of the motorcycle and crashed in a front yard.
St. George Police Officer Vin Lovell said the rider, who was test-driving a motorcycle for sale, took a left turn onto 1575 North a little too fast and lost control, sending the bike into the front yard of a residence.
The bike crashed, knocking down a light pole in front of the house and damaging the side of a toy hauler trailer.
The rider dislocated his shoulder and was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center by ambulance.
The rider was not cited in connection with the incident, Lovell said.
Rich Randall, owner of the home where the motorcycle crashed, was philosophical about the damage.
“I was thinking about taking out that light pole anyway,” Randall said. “I guess the decision has been made for me.”
