ST. GEORGE — Drowsy driving was apparently the cause of an early morning crash Saturday at the intersection of 1450 South and 2580 East where the car uprooted a tree and damaged a power pole and utility box.
St. George Police Sgt. Rich Triplett said the driver was traveling west on 1450 South about 7 a.m. when she apparently fell asleep. The car clipped a power pole, bent the utility box next to it and uprooted a tree before coming to rest next to a block wall.
The driver was taken by ambulance to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George with what appeared to be a minor wrist injury. No other injuries were reported.
No utility disruptions were reported.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
