D-Hills softball rebounds from big loss with blowout win vs. Hurricane

ST. GEORGE — Tuesday afternoon Desert Hills got thrashed by Snow Canyon. Thursday afternoon, it was the Lady Thunder that did the thrashing in a 15-3 victory over Hurricane.

Sophie Wilcox pitched the entire five innings of the mercy-rule shortened game and Morgynn Rosemeyer had three hits, including two doubles, in the win.

It is the first win of the year for Desert Hills, which has been 10-runned five times this year. The freshman Rosemeyer, making her varsity debut, knocked on three runs and scored thrice herself. Sophomore Ashlee File also had a pair of doubles and three total hits and Shyann Reynolds had an RBI triple for the Thunder.

D-Hills pounded out 16 hits, including five extra-base knocks. Walker allowed just three hits and two earned runs as Desert Hills inproved its record to 1-6, 1-1 in region play. Eleven of the 15 runs were scored in the first and second innings.

Hurricane dropped to 3-4 overall, 0-2 in region with the loss. The Thunder are at Pine View next Tuesday, while the Lady Tigers are off until next Friday, when they’ll host the Lady Panthers.
