BRYCE CANYON CITY – The landscape at historic Ruby’s Inn is all dressed up in its winter white thanks to the recent storm that left a two foot cushion across the grounds.
Groomers have been out on the area’s 15K of cross-country skiing trails and have reported that the conditions are the best they have been in 30 years, Ron Harris, web administrator and marketing team member for Ruby’s Inn, said.
“There is 2 feet of snow on the ground at Ruby’s Inn,” Harris said, “and it gets the deeper the higher you go.”
To help you take advantage of these historic snow conditions and get you out on the trails in Utah’s Color Country, Ruby’s Inn is offering a special promotion: Stay one night at regular price and get the subsequent nights half off.
Ruby’s Inn offers cross-country ski rentals; $10 for a full day and $7 for a half day. They have both skating skis and regular track skis, Harris said. They also rent snowshoes.
No reservations are needed for ski and snowshoe rentals, Harris said, and the rental counter is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
“Snowmobiling is terrific as well,” Harris said. “Ride your own sled right from your room to the East Fork Trails – miles of trails and several play areas near Tropic Reservoir and the East Fork of the Sevier River.”
While Ruby’s Inn does not rent snowmobiles guests are welcome to bring their own.
The weather forecast for the week shows warmer temperatures during the day, Harris said, but temperatures at night will still be low enough to ensure the snow sticks around for a couple weeks.
