ST. GEORGE – A trailer carrying two personal watercraft somehow came unhooked from the truck hauling it and veered off the road Friday evening, crashing into a fence along Riverside Drive in St. George.
The accident occurred between 5:30-6 p.m., and the trailer impacted the fence along a pasture area between Heritage Elementary School and Sunland Drive. A segment of fence was bent back by the impact of the trailer. The two watercraft came off the trailer, as well.
No other cars were involved in the accident and no one was injured.
“This was the best possible outcome that could possibly happen,” St. George Police Sgt. Wade Johnson said, referring to the fact that there were no injuries or traffic impacts as a result of the accident.
The trailer and watercraft were reloaded by the owner and removed from the site. One of the watercraft looked like it had received some scuffs on the exterior while the other had sustained more apparent damage.
Johnson said it didn’t appear that a citation would be issued in this incident.
