ST. GEORGE — In time for the start of the 2015 spring semester, the Dixie State University Udvar-Hazy School of Business has added a number of short-term, intensive training courses in accounting, graduate school prep and other subjects, which are available to all DSU students and the public to enroll.
In all, five courses will be taught over the next several weeks, including classes in Quickbooks, Accounting Cycle, GMAT/GRE Prep, Databases Structured Query Language (SQL), and Six Sigma I. All courses, which are 1-3 credit classes, will be taught exclusively on Fridays, and are listed in the DSU academic catalog as MGMT 4950R: Seminar in Business.
“Past graduates are getting jobs that require additional skills in information technology,” said Dr. Kyle Wells, Dean of the Udvar-Hazy School of Business. “We are responding with a few key courses with plans to expand offerings, especially in areas of technology. We hope that we can build interest from current and past students, as well as local business owners that want to brush up.”
Course work for all courses will begin on Friday, Jan. 16, while the SQL course will start in March.
