Lillian Frost Jones Ford

Ford, Lillian obit(June 17, 1927 – December 14, 2014)

Lillian Frost Jones Ford returned home to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 14, 2014, at the age of 87. Lillian was born June 17, 1927, in Albion, Idaho. She was the second daughter of Ivan Leroy and Mary Ann Bortz Frost.

On December 31, 1942, she married Floyd Ray Jones in Burley, Idaho. Together they began building their future, first working in the potato industry; later, they brought a ranch in Tendoy, Idaho where they raised their 3 boys on hard work and effort. They made their home there until Floyd’s health diminished which led them to St. George in 1959. They purchased a motel on the boulevard where Lillian remained after Floyd’s death in 1960. She was sealed to her family for time and all eternity in 1961.

Lillian remarried and had a fourth son in St. George. She was a hardworker and enjoyed man years working for Claron Bradshaw and then Jay Ence. Her big heart was apparent through her many years as the director of Dixie Care and Share. She constantly put others needs above her own and always had something for the grandkids, and neighbors, when they visited.

Lillian is survived by four sons, Dallas (Jennifer Carlyle) Jones, Soldotna, Alaska; DeVon (Shirley Nelson) Jones, St. George; Billy Jones, Ivins; Tony Ford, St. George. She has 13 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and nearly two great great grandchildren (one on the way). She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Jones; her parents and sister, Mary Smith; and a daughter-in-law Marilyn Holt.

Many thanks to the caregivers at Kolob Care Center and to her kind, loving roommate, Lori. Mom and Grandma, you will be greatly missed but we know you are in a better place with the ones you love.
