CEDAR CITY — The Bureau of Land Management Utah Cedar City Field Office is hosting an open house on Thursday to provide input on the implementation and construction of an approved mountain bike trail system that will be located on public land east of Cedar City.
The new trail system, designed by the International Mountain Bicycling Association, will extend from Fiddlers Canyon to the Shurtz Canyon area. The system will include over 100 miles of mountain bike trail and provide opportunities for all riding abilities on sustainable routes.
“The purpose of this open house is to get public input — we want comments about the trail design and features,” Dave Jacobson, BLM recreation planner, said in a press release. “You can even suggest a name for the new trail system.”
Comments about trail implementation can be submitted to Dave Jacobson by email. All comments must be received by 5 p.m. on Nov. 24, 2014. Those interested in the environmental assessment for this trail system can access it through the BLM website.
The open house will be hosted by the BLM at Southern Utah University inside room 141 of the Sharwan Smith Student Center from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Those requesting additional project-specific information are urged to contact Dave Jacobson at 435-865-3010.

You want public comments. The BLM or “Bullies of land management” can go away. Take their worthless federal agency and leave. And take their overpopulated “Mustangs” (feral horses) with them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So these federal lands will revert to BURTON’S ownership now that BURTON has evicted the BLM? Will you be a benevolent king BURTON? Will I be able to do whatever I want whenever I want in your desert kingdom?
The lands ought to be regulated by the state’s in which they are in. While you and your kinfolk here Delong sit around and worship the federal government your “state” leaders along with most of the other western state leaders are trying to be able to get legislation passed so they can manage their own state’s land and get the federal (bloated) government out of it. You know, the same federal government you and Delong seem to love so much. The federal government that couldn’t manage a snow cone shack. Oh wait, let me think of something other successful federal programs or agency’s like the “BLM”. How bout the wonderful EPA, or the DHS (who is spying on all of us). Maybe successful programs like social security, medicare/medicaid, SNAP program! Or the way successful United state postal service! You big government loving let the government do everything for me are the heart of the problem.
Yeah Burton, the BLM should take their fire suppression force too and let this state burn. Talk to congress about the horses, not the local agency because their hands are tied. Did you vote for Cliven Bundy for Governor, Burton?
