NEWCASTLE – The body of a deceased man was discovered Wednesday approximately 14 miles northwest of Newcastle.
At around 1 p.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to a report of a body of a possibly deceased man, according to a statement released by the Iron County Sheriff’s Office.
The Iron County Sheriff’s deputy arrived at the scene and determined a man, in his mid-40s, was, in fact, deceased, the statement issued by the Sheriff’s Office said.
“This death is suspicious in nature,” according to a statement issued by the Iron County Sheriff’s Office, “but no foul play is suspected.”
The body will be sent to the Office of the Medical Examiner for Utah pending an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
The name of the victim is not being released pending notification of the next of kin.
