Hurricane Police seek information on 2-vehicle collision

HURRICANE — The Hurricane City Police Department is seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed a collision on 1150 W. Avenue in Hurricane Friday afternoon resulting in one woman being transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., a woman driving an Oldsmobile Cutlass was traveling east on state Route 9 and proceeded to make a left turn onto 1150 West where she collided with a gray Toyota Highlander, also driven by a woman, traveling west on state Route 9, Hurricane City Police Sgt. Brandon Buell said.

The woman driving the Toyota was transported to the hospital in stable condition, he said. No injuries to the other driver have been reported.

As of 4 p.m., officers are still trying to determine the cause of the accident, Buell said. Damage was caused to the passenger side of the Oldsmobile and front end of the Toyota.

Because the accident is still under investigation, no citations have yet been issued. Hurricane City Police Department and Hurricane City Fire Department attended to the incident.

Buell asks anyone who happened to witness this accident, to please contact the Hurricane City Police Department at 435-627-4999.
