Gene Francis Bermel, 83, of Coral Canyon, Washington, Utah, left us at 6:20 a.m. on October 4, 2014.

He was born in Sioux City, Iowa, on October 8, 1931. Gene married Carol Luana Jones on April 1, 1956. They lived in La Crescenta, California, until December 31, 1978, when they moved to Hurricane, Utah.

Gene was a business owner and entrepreneur, in California, Arizona and Utah.

Gene served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Glenn, Michele, Abbie, Paul, and Wardi, and numerous grandchildren, the youngest, Michael currently serving in the U.S. Navy; brother, Fred Douglas Bermel.

Funeral Services

  • Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m. in the LDS Coral Canyon 3rd Ward Chapel, 1950 North Coral Canyon Blvd, Washington, Utah.
  • Visitation will be on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 10:30-11 a.m., prior to services at the chapel.
  • Interment will be in the Hurricane City Cemetery.
