ST. GEORGE — Zions Bank will host the Smart Women Smart Money conference Oct. 2 at the Jeffrey R. Holland Centennial Commons Building, 225 S. 700 E., in St. George. The event is free and open to the public and will provide information on a range of financial topics.
“Zions Bank provides Smart Women Smart Money conferences across the state of Utah because we know the importance of financial security, and that women hold key decision making roles in our economy and in our families,” said Chantel Chase, Women’s Financial Group Manager. “This conference is a great opportunity for women of all ages and life situations to come together and learn from our speakers, and also from each other.”
American women secured the right to own property, execute wills, earn a salary, and take control of their financial destiny a century ago. But the Zions Bank Women’s Financial Group believes the mission of empowering and encouraging women to be informed about their finances — from understanding their family’s assets to funding a business — remains relevant today.
The group’s conference aims to inspire women with insights on personal development and creating and sustaining financial well-being.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with lunch provided. Speakers will include Zions Bank Wealth Advisor Maria Recto, Zions Bank Region President Cory Gardiner, and Salt Lake Chamber Women’s Business Center Business Consultant Deb Bilbao.

Dude – really? Why have their been several comments lately, on the women of Southern Utah’s aesthetic appearance? I cam out here from California in the late 90’s and thought that thee women out here looked exceptionally well-pampered / youthful. They didn’t have that “burnt-to-a-crusty-crisp”
look from one too many years in the sun and some women in their early 50’s, barely had a wrinkle. – I’m sorry that you don’t find the girls out here, to your liking. Perhaps you should move to Vegas, find someone in one of those “spots” and pray that your manhood doesn’t become “spotted”, in return! – But hey; They’ve got antivirals, for that kinda thing. Just ask Mike Parker about antivirals – He’s our resident expert on Herd Immunity.

Does Zions Bank hold some analogous event for men? I was unable to find it on their site. Seems sexist to disclude men but not surprising. When it comes to Affirmative Action there is no larger beneficiary than women.
The CSA I spoke to at Zion’s needs to go to a ‘Smart Women’ class. My card was affected by the data breach at Home Depot and she told me there’s no reason to get a new card since they were monitoring everyone’s accounts and we would not be responsible for any unauthorized charges. I asked her, what are we to do in the meantime, wait like sitting ducks for something to happen? Wait until all linked accounts are drained, because they will only spot it AFTER the fact?? A light finally went on in her and she killed the old card and reissued a new card.
Sounds more like she gave you a new card since that was easier than edumucating. If you really think all your linked accounts would be drained because HD let the account # & CID out then you may wish to consider using cash as much as possible. And avoid the computer too.
