It wasn’t that long ago that Snow Canyon was on top of the volleyball world. In fact, the Lady Warriors were there for a long time, winning the state championship five straight times from 2006 to 2010. Four of those titles were at the 4A level (2007-2010) and they were so good, teams avoided putting them on their schedules.

After Tuesday’s dominant road win over Hurricane, we could be headed that way again.

Alexsa “Crash” Parker had 26 kills and Kodee Avery had 35 assists as Snow Canyon handed the defending state champ Tigers a 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 28-26) home loss. Jordan Gines was the defensive leader for SC, with 15 digs as the Warriors improved to 3-0 in region play.

Meanwhile, Desert Hills, which won the region last season and won state two years ago, beat Pine View 3-1 (25-14, 25-7, 24-26, 25-12) Tuesday night. Alex Garrett and Courtney Sheeran led the way for the Lady Thunder. Garrett had 17 kills and Sheeran put away 14 balls in the DH win.
