CEDAR CITY— A 49-year-old man was arrested in Cedar City Sunday morning for burglary, assault, criminal mischief, possession of marijuana and driving under the influence.
Officers responded to a residence where Siafolau Sala Leiato had broken into a home.
“He broke through a window of an acquaintance’s home, and was assaulting a member of the home,” Cedar City Police Sgt. Jimmy Roden said.
During the time of the arrest, officers found Siafolau to be intoxicated and found him in possession of marijuana after searching his vehicle, Roden said.
He was arrested and charged on one second-degree felony for burglary of a dwelling; three class B misdemeanors for assault, drug possession, and driving under the influence; and one class A misdemeanor for criminal mischief.
Siafolau remains in the Iron County Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail.
Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.

Was he assaulting the dog?
He was just trying to get his home teaching done. The judge will clealy see this as church service and release him.
I’m actually the person he assaulted and he was trying to hurt a woman and two children. He had a history of being violent and as soon as he was released from being arrested returned to the home even with a protective order in place. I know you think your comments are funny but I think no single mother wants the trauma her kids went through that night to happen to anyone.
