Riverton 62, Dixie 28
Written by Brett Brostrom
ST. GEORGE — The Dixie Flyers took on Riverton this week, falling 62-28 in the DHS Homecoming game.

Dixie struggled on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. The very first play of the game resulted in an Ammon Takau interception to Riverton’s secondary, allowing Riverton to score within the first minute of the game. The Silverwolves never let up after that, continually running the ball well until the final whistle and tearing up Dixie’s inexperienced defensive line.
Riverton running back Paden Cayias was the star of the night, breaking multiple big runs through the middle of the field to Dixie’s end zone, racking up 182 yards along the way on 21 carries. Dixie didn’t seem to have an answer for the speedster, and continued to struggle stopping the run as Riverton went on to a 62-28 Riverton victory.
Riverton finished with 485 rushing yards and 531 total yards in the game. Dixie had 300 yards, including 92 rushing by Tre Miller.
Stats: Riverton 62, Dixie 28

Dixie actually ended the game with 26 points… Unfortunately
Our reporter at the game (and several other news sources) say otherwise, MM. The final score was 62-28.
Then I guess the scoreboard read wrong? I remember thinking at the end of the game that the score (although disturbing) was interesting that it was 62-26.
I think this is going to be a long season for Dixie! Last nights game was a nightmare. The offense actually doesn’t look terrible. Tauka’s option reads were much better. He still doesn’t look to all of his receivers and usually only looks to one guy but he is improving. The defense is a mess! They arm tackled and just stood around watching, particularly the linebackers. They need to make some serious adjustments or its going to be a long year
